Advocating for resources to support victims of gun violence in communities across Illinois is a core part of One Aim’s mission. We actively track organizations and initiatives statewide that are focused on directly supporting victims and their families. Here, we keep an active list of those resources that are available. Purpose Over Pain
Biographical Info
Formed through the Chicago Police Department CAPS program with 7 families that had lost their children to senseless gun violence. The name Purpose over Pain was inspired by these parents’ relentless pursuit of solutions to gun violence as their purpose as they faced their pain.
